Surf CLub Surf club has now been running for two years, just as young persons would go to a football club, gymnastics or swimming club, surf club offers youngsters the opportunity to improve their skills by joining the British Surfing Association's Junior Surfers Scheme. We have now got a dedicated number of members which have advanced tremendously in their surfing skills and remained motivated throughout the winter months. Due to the success of the Surf Club there is a waiting list so get your childs name added early. At present the Surf Club meets every Sunday at 10am for an hour of training. As with last year when daylight hours permit we will extend the training to include Thursday/Wednesday evening at 6.30pm for an hour. All levels of surfers are welcome and our Instructors will be providing coaching during a one hour period. You would pay for five/ten week's in advance and each session costs £8.00 per session. This would include all equipment necessary and coaching from our fully qualified instructors. Please note that we are aiming for continuous training and would hope that parents will continue to send their child/children for the whole season not just a five week period. We are creating a club enviroment and hope to offer more senior members of the surf club the ability to become coaches and give back to the newer members with their knowledge and skills. If you are interested please contact me for further information. Should you wish your child to join the surf club please contact Zoee Smith on 07961714993 or email

Senior Surf Club Members Josh Kidd- aged 14 years old
"When I started surfing I was 12 years old, I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but with lots of help from Zoee and Nick I was soon standing up and progressing onto clean waves. Thanks to surf club I can now do things I only dreamed of doing when I started 2 years ago. It has been a big help amd a great experience that I hope will continue for much longer." Oliva Irving - aged 14 years old
"I started sufing in July 2008. I started mainly because I fancied having a go. My first lesson started it all, of course I fell off and had alot of wipe outs, but the minute i came out the water i wanted to run back in. I was hooked. I went surfing the next day with my cousin, we both loved it. After that I got myself into alot of trouble for surfing on my own with little knowledge about the sea. That's when I joined surf club. Joining surf club has made me progress alot in surfing and has kept me fit, healthy and safe. I love surfing so omuch because of everything about it, the paddle out, the line-up, then the best bit, riding the waves. I remember the first wave I rode I thought 'I love this' and I still think the same thing today. Surfing has become a massive part of my life, I don't go one day without thinking about it." Ethan Nary - aged 11 years old
"I love surfing because it is good exercise, exciting and loads of fun. I think I started about 3 years ago but I have only been in surf club for over a year. Since then I have learnt a ton of techniques from Nick and Zoee. I started surfing because my Dad did, I went down the shop hired a wetsuit and board and loved it. I dont like competitions because it puts too much pressure on me so I always do bad, I feel free surfing and having fun.
